The Bar And Bat Mitzvah Project
With thousands of families stuck in hotels for months, and unable to plan more than a few days in advance, celebrating a bar or a bat mitzva is the farthest thing from the parents' minds. With fathers away in the army, the financial strain had been dire, too.
But the kids – they long to have their big day!
Our People, with assistance from Thank you Hashem, has organized multiple group Bar and Bat Mitzvah celebrations for children from evacuated families. We provided the entire party - food, music, entertainment, clothes, gifts and a ceremony, making sure that each child felt celebrated on their special day. Our events were attended by prominent Israeli figures, including Chief Rabbi David Lau.
