When Jewish Souls Are Lost in Translation

Imagine a 12-year-old who has never heard of Abraham.

  • A child who doesn't know what Shabbat means.

  • Whose family fled persecution but couldn't pack their heritage.

  • Whose parents don’t know enough about Judaism to answer basic questions

  • Who has no family and precious few friends in Israel with whom to celebrate their big day.

This is the reality for thousands of Russian and Ukrainian immigrant children in Israel today.

Their parents survived. But Jewish identity? That got left behind.
Until now.
The Hidden Crisis: A Generation at Risk
Since 2022, our summer camps have welcomed thousands of Russian-speaking immigrant children annually. What we discovered broke our hearts:
These children arrive as blank slates:
Zero knowledge of Jewish traditions or values
No connection to Israeli culture or history
Parents who can't teach what they never learned
Families rebuilding from trauma, war, and displacement
The devastating pattern
Children flourish during our 2-week camps, then regress completely during the school year without support.
The barriers are crushing:
1
Social isolation in new communities
2
Children forced into adult roles
(translating, navigating bureaucracy)
3
Parents working multiple jobs, emotionally unavailable
4
Language and cultural barriers that feel insurmountable
5
Families struggling just to survive, let alone celebrate
The Solution: The Bar/Bat Mitzva Club
We're transforming our proven summer camp model into year-round Bar/Bat Mitzva clubs—creating the sustained support these children desperately need.
Local Chapters Across Israel

This is a meaningful way for your child to take ownership of their mitzvah, involve loved ones, and inspire others to give.Your child learns that Jewish responsibility means lifting up other Jewish children.
Ahead of his bar mitzva David decided to make and sell mishlochei manot in our community to raise money for a twin bar mitzva. It was such a meaningful activity for him, which taught him all about responsibility and caring for others in a way that no lesson could. Between his sales, family donations, and our employers’ matching funds we were able to sponsor a cohort of bar mitzva kids in Israel.

The Choice That Defines Our Future
This isn't just about immigrant children.
This is about the Jewish people.

When we lose a generation to assimilation, we all lose.
When we reclaim a generation for Judaism, we all win.

Your donation—whether modest or generous—joins a movement of people who believe every Jewish child deserves to know their story.

Your family's twinning project teaches your child that Jewish adulthood begins with responsibility to others
