That’s what 14-year-old Lior tells his mother almost every day.
His father has been bedridden since being wounded in Gaza. Lior doesn’t complain—he helps with homework, rocks the baby to sleep, and makes sure his mother eats. While other teens his age are hanging out with friends, Lior is holding his family together.
Lior is not alone. Across Israel, there are hundreds of teens like him—children who have grown up too fast, carrying responsibilities far beyond their years.
Until now, they’ve had no dedicated space to breathe, to laugh, to simply be kids.
Together, Our People and Chaverot Barzel (a support network for wives of wounded IDF soldiers) are launching a Mom & Teen Retreat.
This will be the very first retreat designed specifically for teenagers of wounded IDF soldiers—alongside their mothers.
